SAP Asset Intelligence Network Subscriptions

Organizations subscribing to SAP Asset Intelligence Network can have one of the following account types:
  • Principal/Inviter = Premium

  • Invitee = Portal Invitee (They are created through the company profile.)

  • Freemium = Organization invited into the network by a premium to access the network with a dedicated tenant.

Introducing Freemium Into the Network

Actions that can be performed by the freemiums are slightly different from what the premium can do in the network. For example, B is a freemium invited by premium A.
  • Only premium customers who have subscribed to SAP Asset Intelligence Network product can invite organizations to join the network as Freemiums.

  • Freemium B cannot send or initiate connections to any other organization in the network including its inviter A. A needs to send a connection to B.

  • Premiums can search freemiums and send a connection request, that is, A can send a connection request to B. Once B approves the connection request, they can share the content to each other. Until inviter sends a request to freemium, freemium cannot participate in the network. They can just create the data for themselves. Other premiums, for example, another premium C too can have B as its freemium.

  • Freemiums cannot make any of their content public. Also, a freemium cannot view the public content shared by other premiums.

    • Basically a freemium cannot have a public authorization group.

    • The freemium should not be added as a member of other premium’s authorization groups.

  • A Freemium cannot create invitees in the Company Profile app.

  • Connected premiums of a freemium will not get grant rights on freemium objects by default.

  • Freemium will have API access and so can have backend integration enabled.

  • A freemium can be upgraded to a premium.

  • Existing SAP Asset Intelligence Network freemiums cannot subscribe for SAP Digital Manufacturing.

Invitee Concept

Terms

  • Invitee = Portal User

  • New Invitee: Invitee on boarded after new licence T&C are in effect (this can be a new invitee of old premium or new premium)

  • Old invitee: Invitee created by the old premium

As per new license terms and conditions, newly created invitees (portal users) will not receive any public content shared by other premiums other than operation tenants. Invitees are only a part of operations authorization groups and will not be added as members for this newly on-boarded premium’s authorization group by default.

Old invitees will be receiving the public content that was already shared with them, that is, existing invitees will not be removed from any authorization groups. They will not be added as members of any new premium’s authorization groups.

When an old license invitee becomes a premium, then he should be as a member of only new license premiums’ public authorization group (this old license is already a part of old license premiums’ public authorization groups)

When a new license invitee becomes a premium, then they are added as a member of all premiums’ authorization groups.

Freemium to Premium Upgrade

  • Public and my invitees authorization groups are created where the organization can share his content.

  • The organization is added in the authorization groups of othe premiums so that they can receive data when they are made public.

  • The organization can search for other premiums or freemiums and initiate a connection request.

  • Connections that the organization has made earlier as a freemium will still be available.

  • Once, the organization has been upgraded to premium, they can further invite freemiums into the network.

  • They can create new invitees using the Company Profile app.

Invitee to Freemium or Premium Upgrade

  • An invitee can have only SAP Asset Intelligence Network subscribed to it.

  • As a freemium, he can have only restricted functionality in the network. For more information, refer to Introducing Freemium Into the Network section.
