About subscriber range tables

Caution: Do not modify or delete subscriber range tables with Core Tool when SAP Convergent Charging is integrated with a CRM application or a provisioning system.

Creating, modifying, or deleting subscriber range tables may result in inconsistencies between the two systems because of data replication and synchronization mechanisms. To modify a subscriber range table, you must use the CRM or provisioning system.

  • Consult the Application Help for more information about the customer data provisioning process.

  • Consult the Web Services Documentation if you need to integrate your CRM or provisioning system by implementing the Web Services technical interface provided by SAP Convergent Charging to manage this customer master data.

The manual procedures detailed in this section are relevant in:

  • A production system landscape with few contracts directly managed with Core Tool (No CRM interfaced with SAP CC)

  • A test, demo, or training system landscape

A subscriber range table is a table of business data for mapping ranges of positive numbers to a set of output string or number values that represent prices, unit prices, or other credits. Some combinatorial rules can be applied to output columns for computing supplementary final values. You must configure the pricing logic that defines the computation algorithm of the final values. See few examples.

A subscriber range table is similar to a range table except that it is a master data related to end customers of a service provider. It is assigned to a subscriber account instead of being defined in a pricing catalog of the service provider. It is used to define or redefine the values of a range table for a specific end customer or for a set of contracts.

A subscriber range table allows you to create new properties that you can use in the pricing logic assigned to a provider contract (see active charge plans).

You define the structure of a subscriber range table in a range table class.

Subscriber range table step by step

Before creating a subscriber range table, you must create, set up, and save a range table class.

Here are the main steps you have to perform for using subscriber range tables:

  1. Create a subscriber range table. Then the subscriber range table is attached to a subscriber account.

  2. Set up the subscriber range table

  3. Save the subscriber range table

  4. Use the subscriber range table in a provider contract related to the subscriber account the subscriber mapping table is attached to. You have to set a parameter with the type Range Tables ID at contract item level.

  5. Delete the subscriber range table.

You can use the same range table class for building different range tables and subscriber range tables.

Integration

This customer master data must be created an maintained by an external system connected to the SAP CC system during the provisioning process.

Versions

You can modify and save different versions of a subscriber range table.

Transport

You cannot transport customer master data with Core Tool.

Maintenance

The only subscriber range table which is available is the last modified one. You can modify and delete the rows of a subscriber range table, but you cannot change the name of a subscriber range table or the related range table class.
