Offer charge definition

Create or modify an offer before setting up a charge in a suboffer. In the left pane of the offer window, click a charge to view, and then open the Definition tab.

The Definition tab allows you to define how the master or dependent charge is used in the subscription, the role it plays in the subscription and which actors it is linked to. The charge type is defined previously when you create a charge.

Caution: If you save an offer before defining a charge, the charge will be saved using default settings. You cannot change the default settings in a charge that it is saved as part of an offer. If you need to change the definition settings of a charge after it has been saved in an offer, you must delete the offer, create it again, add the charge, and define it.

The Definition tab displays different fields depending on the type of the charge that you want to set up.

If you set up a dependent charge

Role: Select one of the following roles that the charge plays in the offer:

Operation: Is only available if you select the Other option in the Role field above. Select one of the following options:

Create New Transaction (*): If selected, a transaction is created which includes the amount calculated by the dependent charge. Some fields are available or not depending on which option you select in the Role field. Selecting an option other than Other in the Role field only makes the Client/Partner and Service Provider fields available while selecting the Other option allows you to select or not the Create New Transaction check box. If this check box is selected, all the fields in this area are available; otherwise, they are unavailable.

(*): If you choose not to create a new transaction, all the transactions created by the master charge and related dependent charges are merged into one single transaction; however, all the transaction details resulting from the dependent charges will not appear in the final transaction. Therefore, the transaction details of the dependent charges will be lost permanently.

Important: You must keep in mind that once a master charge has been triggered, the related dependent charges are triggered depending on the priority order defined in the dependencies table. This is the case with the Use previous discounted amount option. When you select this option, a discount is calculated on the initial amount of the master charge from which the previous discounts have already been subtracted; therefore, the resulting amount of the discount depends on the order of the dependent charges in the dependencies table.
