Activation status

When you select dependent or master charges to build an offer, you can choose whether they are mandatory or optional.

Note: Activation status are set up on the Definition tab of charges included in offers.

Mandatory status

While defining a master or dependent charge, if you choose mandatory status, the charge will be always included in the offer subscription. You can specify the setup and effective date of this charge when creating the subscription.

Optional status

While defining a master or dependent charge, if you choose optional status, the charge will not be activated by default in the subscription. You can manually include the charge in the subscription later if necessary.

Example: Optional status

The training organization Techlingua signs a contract with Learn.com for the Complete Organization Module, on which it will receive a 5% discount on the subscription fee. Learn.com normally grants this type of one-shot discount to major customers. To enable the selective discount, Learn.com creates a dependent Discount charge in the Complete Organization Module with optional status, then manually activates the Discount charge in the Techlingua subscription. The Discount charge remains available for other subscriptions but will not be activated unless it is triggered.
