Creating a monitoring plan

Prerequisites

Before creating a monitoring plan, you must:

Use one of the following procedures to create a monitoring plan.

To create a monitoring plan

  1. From the menu bar in the main window, select File > New > Monitoring Plan. The Choose owner dialog box opens.

  2. In the Owner of Object drop-down menu, select the owner of the monitoring plan.

  3. Click OK. The New Monitoring Plan window opens.

  4. Set up this new monitoring plan. By default, its release status is set to Open.

  5. Verify its data structure by clicking the Verify icon on the main window toolbar. Correct all elements underlined in red.

  6. Check the preview and signature of the monitoring plan.

  7. Save the monitoring plan.

  8. In a development system landscape, you can test this plan.

  9. Release the monitoring plan.

Tip: You can create a monitoring plan by opening and copying an existing monitoring plan.

To create a monitoring plan from an existing monitoring plan

  1. From the menu bar in the main window, select File > Open > Monitoring Plan. The Choose a Monitoring Plan dialog box opens.

  2. In the Owner drop-down menu, select the owner of the monitoring plan.

  3. In the Monitoring Plans folder of the pricing catalog of the owner, select the monitoring plan.

  4. Select the Open a Copy check box, and then click Open. The window of the corresponding monitoring plan opens.

  5. Rename the monitoring plan in the Name field, and then set up the new monitoring plan as necessary. By default, its release status is set to Open.

  6. Verify the data structure of the monitoring plan by clicking the Verify icon on the main window toolbar. Correct all elements underlined in red.

  7. Check the preview and signature of the monitoring plan.

  8. Save the monitoring plan.

  9. In a development system landscape, you can test this plan.

  10. Release the monitoring plan.
