For adding a component

You can add one or more components to the rating tree or the charging tree.

For adding a component to the rating tree

You build each branch of the rating tree by using several combinations of the following components: Functions, Comparators, Splitters or Operators. You must end each branch of the rating tree with a function component. Note that function components are the leaves of the tree.

Notes:

  • Because you cannot insert a pricing macro in a price plan, you need to insert components such as a macro function or a macro operator in a price plan to reuse an existing pricing macro.

  • Because you cannot insert a translation table in a price plan, you need to insert a Table operator component in a price plan to reuse an existing translation table.

  • Because you cannot insert a tier table  in a price plan, you need to insert a table operator component in a price plan to reuse an existing translation table.

To add and set up a component

  1. In the rating tree, click the component under which you want to add a component.

  2. On the Components toolbar, click the component that you need to add to the rating tree. You can select a component that belongs to one of these families: Functions, Comparators, Splitters or Operators.

  3. In the Name field of the right pane, type the name of the component.

  4. In the Description field, describe the function of the component if necessary.

  5. Set up the component (*).

(*): For more information about setting up components, refer to the primary help relating to components: Click Components on the Help menu of the main window.

Note: If necessary, you can change the order of components. Place the cursor on the component to move, right-click to open the shortcut menu, and then select Move Up Component or Move Down Component.

For adding a component to the charging tree

The rules and procedures are the same as those for the rating tree except that the Functions, the Splitters components and the pricing macros are not available for the charging tree. Furthermore, References replace the Functions as the leaves of the tree.

Note: If you want to add components to the Default component, you must first remove the Default Reference, and then add any Comparators or Operators before adding any other reference.
