Transaction Info

On this tab, you define the transaction information which is contained in the transaction to be taxed.

Fill in or modify the Transaction Info tab.

Number of Lines: When a local service is provided, a transaction must be generated with this option populated with the number of lines which the customer subscribes to. EZTax uses this information for generating per line taxes usually associated with local E911 charges and local telecommunications relay service taxes and other assorted taxes. Do one of the following:

Number of Locations: When a local service is provided, this option must be populated with the number of locations which the customer has. EZTax uses this information for generating local taxes that are mandated for location by the taxing jurisdiction. Most of these taxes are flat fees; however, the charge field must be specified to allow for taxation based upon percentages of revenue instead of per location.

Client Resale: Telecommunication companies are taxed on transactions made by their clients, which in some cases can be passed on or "resold" to their customers in part or in total. This option is used to specify whether the service transaction is final or if it must be resold.

Telecommunication Type: The telecommunication type specifies the type of the telecommunication transaction. To select a type, select one of the following options:

Call Duration: The call duration specifies the length of phone call in minutes, with one tenth of a minute precision capability. EZTax uses the call duration for generating taxes that are specified as per minute flat fees in some taxing jurisdictions, and then stores the value in the EZTax log database. Select the call duration defined in a property.
