Creating the billable item mapping

Use this procedure to map:

A charged item class onto a billable item class
A refill record class onto a billable item class

Note: If you map an existing charged item class (or an existing refill record class) onto a billable item class, make sure that the structure of the charged item class (or the refill record class) is the same as the one of the billable item class; otherwise, you must modify the structure of the charged item class (or the refill record class) so that you can save the billable item mapping.

To create the billable item mapping

From the menu bar in the main window, select File > New > Billable Item Mapping. The Choose a Billable Item Class by Use dialog box opens.
In the dialog box, select one of the following types:

Charging of Postpaid Account: Allows to map a charged item class onto a billable item class if you work with a charge dedicated to external postpaid accounts
Charging of Prepaid or Postpaid Account: Allows to map a charged item class onto a billable item class if you work with a charge dedicated to prepaid accounts and external postpaid accounts
Refilling of Prepaid Account: Allows to map a refill record class onto a billable item class if you work with a refill logic dedicated to prepaid accounts

Click OK. Depending on the selected option, the Choose a Billable Item Class and a Charged Item Class dialog box (or the Choose a Billable Item Class and a Refill Item Class dialog box) opens.
In the Charged Item Class list of the dialog box (or in the Refill Item Class list), select an existing charged item class (or an existing refill record class), or select New Class (recommended) to create a new charged item class (or a new refill record class), and then type its name in the next field. You can reuse this class later on.
Click OK. The window of the new billable item mapping is displayed (*).
If necessary, modify the billable item class to reorganize the mapping between the billable item class and the charged item class (or the refill record class). In SAP Convergent Charging, SAP SE strongly recommends that you do not modify the structure of the billable item mapping.
Verify the structure of the billable item mapping by clicking the Verify icon on the main window toolbar. Correct all elements underlined in red.
Save the billable item mapping.

(*) Note: Depending on the selected type (step 2), the right panel of the window displays "Charged Item Class" or "Refill Record Class" as the Source of the billable item mapping. This means that in a charge plan, the Charged Items tab of a charge only provides a list of charged item classes while in a refill plan the Refill Records tab of the refill logic only provides a list of refill record classes.
