About charging components

Charging components are always found at the root of the charging tree. A charging component is activated by one or more rate components. The following table shows the different types and their relevant activation:

The following types of charging component are available in SAP Convergent Charging:

Usage Charging

Creates in the charging tree a main branch that charges to an account each calculated amount of one or more usage rates defined in the price plan.

Recurring Charging

Creates in the charging tree a main branch that charges to an account each calculated amount of all Recurring Rates defined in the price plan.

One-Shot Charging

Creates in the charging tree a main branch that charges to an account each calculated amount of all One-Shot Rates defined in the price plan.

Default Charging

Is in the charging tree a main branch that charges to an account each calculated amount of rate components when no specified charging is defined.
