Before running the Rating Trial Run tool, make sure that you have correctly verified the price plan that you want to test; otherwise, the Rating Trial Run tool displays an error message.
Once you have set up the Rating Trial Run tool, you can run it by selecting the mode in which you want to do the test. You can choose one the main modes to perform a trial run:

Click
to perform the trial run that uses at least one breakpoint
The following table shows the different operating modes of the Rating Trial Run tool:

This mode performs the trial run of the rate component that you select in the Rating of field only if you have set at least one breakpoint. Once you have set a breakpoint, click |
Once you have performed a rating trial run, the results are displayed in the Line Items area:
The first line represents the final price of the rating branch
The remaining lines represent the individual items that make it up, component by component
For example, you test the Usage Rate "Call fee" of your price plan. This Usage Rate is made up of two branches: Call duration x 0.02 USD and Call duration x 0.01 USD, which are triggered depending on the number of calls. If the number of calls is smaller than 10, the price is calculated according to Call duration x 0.02 USD; otherwise, the price is calculated in the second branch according to Call duration x 0.01 USD.
Before running the Rating Trial Run tool, you set the property Call duration to 100 and the property Number of calls to 10 in the Input Properties area.
You start the Rating Trial Run tool. Once the trial run is complete, the Line Items area displays the following:
|
Line Item |
Value |
|
Call fee |
USD 1.00 |
|
Call duration x 0.01 USD |
USD 1.00 |
The first line of the Line Items area displays the final price of the usage rate "Call fee". The second line displays the result of the branch "Call duration x 0.01 USD". In this example, the results are the same, but the results and the number of line items depend on the complexity of your price plan.
