Example of a chargeable item package

As the telephone operator Telcoserv, you need to create a chargeable item package in the software that represents an Introductory Package telephone subscription.

You will need to create the following items of the "Telephone" chargeable item package in Simulation Tool:

To create this chargeable item package, you must do the following:

  1. Identify the chargeable item package.

  2. Create the chargeable item class.

  3. Define the user properties.

  4. Save the chargeable item package.

To identify the "Telephone" chargeable item package

  1. On the File menu, click New. the New Simulation window is displayed.

  1. On the Elements tab, click in the Chargeable Item Packages area. The New Chargeable Item Package window is displayed.

  1. In the New Chargeable Item Package window, type “Telephone” in the Name field.

  1. Type “telephone chargeable item package” in the Description field. The "Telephone" chargeable item package is now identified.

To create the "Communication" chargeable item class

  1. On the Elements toolbar, click to add a new chargeable item class.

  2. Type “Communication” in the Name field.

  3. Type “telephone call” in the Description field.

  4. On the Definition tab, select the Service option. The "Communication" chargeable item class is now created.

To define the user Properties

  1. In the tree display area of the chargeable item package, click User properties.

  2. On the Elements toolbar, click to add a user property.

  3. Type “Caller” in the Name field.

  4. Type “caller number” in the Description field.

  5. On the Definition tab, select the String option.

  6. Repeat the same steps for the “Callee”. The user properties are now defined.

To save a chargeable item package as an XML file

Once the "Telephone" chargeable item package is complete, you can save it as an XML file.

  1. On the File menu, click Save. The Save dialog box is displayed.

  2. In the Look in list, select the folder where you want to save the chargeable item package.

  3. Type “Telephone_Product” in the File Name field.

  1. Click Save. The chargeable item package is now created and saved on your hard disk.
