The cross-catalog mapping in SAP CRM defines which allowances must be created when customers sign contracts for a commercial product or when changes are made to the customers’ contract. SAP CRM creates allowances in SAP CC on demand or automatically when the provider contract is activated or changed. SAP CRM sends a charging request to SAP CC with the ALLO chargeable item (1). This chargeable item contains the identifier of the allowance definition to be created and the date at which the allowance must be activated. This charging request executes a SAP CC charge (2). This charge retrieves the corresponding allowance definition from the allowance definition table, creates the corresponding allowance, and initializes the allowance according to the allowance definition (3). The charge can generate billable items for reporting purposes (4), and the allowance can generate billable items for Deferred Revenue Recognition purposes (4).

Note: The numbers in parentheses refer to the steps describing the process of allowance creation in the following illustration. |

To customize SAP CC, you are provided with the templates of the ALLO chargeable item class, the allowance definition table class, and the instance. The allowances tutorial provides also concrete examples of charges and charge plans. For more information, refer to the Allowances Tutorial guide.
