Viewing operations

From the menu bar in the main window, select Window > View Operations. The Audited Operations window opens.

The elements of the Audited Operations window allows you to search for user operations based on:

After you set up either the Search From Audit tab, the Search From Filters tab, or the Search From Criteria tab, you can start the search by clicking . If there are audited operations that conform to the criteria, they appear in the results area.

Use the following icons to:

: Clear the search results list from the results area.

: Delete the user operations displayed in the results area from the server.

: Scroll to the next user operations matching the criteria.

: Scroll to the previous user operations matching the criteria.

: Open the Object Change Log window to display the object change logs related to the selected audited operation.

Search From Audit tab

Audit: Provides the list of existing audit objects. Select an audit on which you want to base your search. Before searching for operations, click to modify the original audit if necessary. Make your modifications, save them, and then close the audit window.

Period For Search: Choose the option to search for user operations by selecting either last audited period or given dates. If you select given dates, select these dates in the From and To fields by using the calendar .

Search From Filters tab

You set up this tab in the same way as you set up the Filters tab of an audit object.

In the From and To fields, click the calendar to select the dates between which you want to find all the audited operations.

Search by Criteria tab

To find audited operations, the Search by Criteria tab allows you to create a table containing a single or a combination of possible search criteria. To add a row to the table, click the More button. To delete a row from the table, click the Less button.

Notes:

  • If the criteria table consists of several rows and if you want to delete a row, the Remove dialog box opens to display the identifier names. Select the row that you want to delete from the table, and then click OK.

  • If you choose the Is Like comparator when building criteria rows, you can type “*” in the right-hand field to represent a number of characters and “?” to represent a single character.

Each row of the table comprises three fields. To set up a row, do the following:

  1. In the first field, select a search criterion in the following list of identifiers:

  2. Operand: Identifier (name, code, reference) of the user operation

  3. Operation: Type of the audited operation for every object supporting the fine-grained auditing feature

  4. Reference: Identifier of the audited operation

  5. User: Name of the user who initiated the audited operation

  6. Error Message: Error related to the execution of the audited operation

  1. In the second field, select a search comparator such as Equals, Starts With, Ends With, Contains, Is Like, for example.

  2. In the third field, select or type the string that you want to find in the database.

  3. In the From and To fields, click the calendar to select the dates between which you want to find audited operations.
