Once the spending status monitoring function is implemented, the SAP CC system can report some business indicators to a registered policy or monitoring system able to make policy decisions. For each provider contract, the label values of these spending statuses reflect the current context of an end customer regarding to the customer service use and to monitored counters in the provider contract.
This data is not persistent. The SAP CC never stores this data in the back-end database system.
The possible label values of each type of spending status are configured in spending status descriptions and must be synchronously configured in the policy or monitoring system.
During online charging and refilling operations, the SAP CC system manages these spending statuses according to the configuration set in one or more contract items that activate a monitoring plan.
Example (High-Tech and Media Industry)
The SAP CC system reports spending statuses to a registered policy system. These reports include the "Data fair usage" spending status. The possible labels are configured both in the SAP CC system (in a spending status description) and in the policy system.
Example (Telecommunications Industry)
In the 3GPP environment, the SAP CC system generates spending limit reports (named spending status reports) that include different policy counter statuses and identifiers to a registered PCRF system.
