Importing a monitoring plan

To transport data, you can import monitoring plans exported in XML format from a directory to the back-end database of another SAP CC system or to another SAP CC system landscape.

Several versions of a monitoring plan can exist in files corresponding to their stages of modification. You can import all versions of a monitoring plan into SAP CC, or select only the version that you want.

To import a monitoring plan

  1. Log on and connect to the target SAP CC system.

  2. From the menu bar in the main window, select File > Import. The Open dialog box opens.

  3. Open the directory in which the monitoring plan is saved, and then select the monitoring plan file.

  4. Click Open. The Import Objects dialog box opens.

  5. Leave the default All versions option selected if you want to import all the versions of the imported objects, or do the following:

  6. To select only one version as of a certain date, select the One version per object option.

  7. To replace all versions by the imported version, select the Replace all versions option.

  8. To replace or not some existing versions by the imported version, select the Use modification date as of option and choose the date on which you save the imported version. Depending on this date, some existing versions will be replaced or not by the imported version.

  1. In the Import column, clear the check boxes of objects you do not wish to import.

  2. Click Import.

Note: SAP Convergent Charging can only import a data object which has previously been exported to a file (File > Export), rather than saved directly in a file (File > Save > In a File). Do not try to import other files.

This is because the export process saves all versions of an object and the objects attached to it, rather than just one version that lacks associated objects. The import process requires all versions and associated objects to be available.
