Setting up the charging plan of a charge

Create or modify a charge, and then set up the charge before setting up the charging plan. A charge window must be open.

In a charge window, a charging plan is graphically represented by a charging tree, which consists of charging plan components using counters, parameters, translation tables, tier tables, or mapping tables depending on the requirements of the plan.

Important: Setting up the internal reference dictionary depends on the objects you are working on. If you are working on charge plans, provider contracts, and refill plans, you must use charging references which are typed. If you are working on offers and subscriptions, you must use charging references which are not typed.

To set up the charging plan of a charge

  1. In the charging tree display area of the charge window, make sure that the charging plan icon is selected; otherwise, select it.

  2. In the right pane of the charge window, identify the charging plan. In the Name field, type the unique identifier of the charging plan. In the Description field, describe the function of the charging plan if necessary.

  3. Create and set up the internal reference dictionary.

  4. In the left pane, and if necessary (*), add charging components to the charging plan, and then set up the charging components (**).

  5. If you have added charging components, add comparators, operators or references components to the charging plan, and then set up the components (**).

(*): Charging components are not mandatory because the charging plan already contains a Default component. You can remove the Default Reference, and then add any comparators or operators before adding any other reference to the Default component.

(**) For more information about setting up charging components, refer to the Help system relating to components: Click Components on the Help menu of the main window.

Notes:

  • You can remove, cut, copy, and paste components or sections of a charging tree by right-clicking the component and selecting Remove, Cut, Copy, or Paste.

  • When you click the charging plan icon , the Charging icon on the Components toolbar becomes available.
