Internal reference dictionary

To access to an internal reference dictionary, you must click the charging plan of a charge to display the related tab area.

A charging plan consists of one or more charging components (usage charging, recurring charging, and one-shot charging). Each charging component that you add to a charging plan must refer to a prepaid or a postpaid account which is charged after the charging plan has been triggered. Therefore, the internal reference dictionary allows you to create references which are used in the charging components to refer to an account. These references are then used at charge level (in the charge plan) where they are mapped to account assignments of the charge plan.

Depending on the objects you are working on, the internal reference dictionary consists of charging references which are:

Note: Do not forget that once you have created and saved the charge, you can non longer modify the dictionary of internal references. Therefore, you must create all the references you need to use in the charging plan before saving the charge.

If you use charge plans, provider contracts, or refill plans

You can only assign the Internal Reference component to each charging component inserted in the charging tree. For each Internal Reference component, you select an internal reference of the dictionary. If you want to make a refill, you use a refill plan.

If you use offers and subscriptions

You can assign any Reference component (Internal Reference, Default Reference, External Reference, or Refill Reference) to each charging component inserted in the charging tree. However, you can select an internal reference of the dictionary only for an Internal Reference component or a Refill Reference component. You can also select the Default Charging Reference for a Refill component.

Furthermore, when creating the internal references of the dictionary, you must assign a back-up to each of the internal references. When modifying a charge, you can add new references to the charging plan of a charge. Because the new references may not exist in the charging mapping of old subscriptions, the dictionary keeps a backup reference to replace any new reference that is not in the charging mapping of a subscription. For more information, also refer to Charging mapping.
