Note: In an integrated SAP Solution scenario with the SAP CRM and the SAP ERP/FI-CA components of SAP Business Suite, if you need to manage payments to a business partner, SAP SE recommends that you do not configure any dependent charges. Refer to the note. |
Create or modify a charge plan before setting up and customize a charge in the charge plan. In the left pane of the Charge Plan window, click a charge
to view, and then open the Definition tab.
The Definition tab allows you to define how the master or dependent charge is used in the provider contracts and the role it plays. The charge type is defined previously when you create a reusable charge.
|
Caution: If you save a charge plan before defining a charge, the charge will be saved using default settings. You cannot change the default settings in a charge that it is saved as part of a charge plan. If you need to change the definition settings of a charge after it has been saved in a charge plan, you must delete the charge plan, create it again, add the charge, and define it. |
The Definition tab displays different configuration fields depending on the type (master, dependent) of the charge that you want to set up and customize.
Fill in or modify the fields below:
Charge: Displays the name of the customized charge. If you want to modify the reusable charge before defining it in the charge plan, you can do so by clicking
, modifying the charge, saving your changes, and closing its window.
Relationship Type: Select one of the following options:
Client: The subscriber of the charge plan consumes the service related to the charge, resulting in the generation of a client business transaction
Partner: The subscriber of the charge plan provides the service related to the charge, resulting in the generation of a partner business transaction
Operation: Depends on the option that you select in the Relationship Type field. Select one of the following options:
Debit Client: The client pays a service provider for the consumption of the service related to the charge
Credit Client: The client is paid by a service provider after the service is consumed
Debit Partner: The partner pays for the consumption of the service related to the charge
Credit Partner: The partner is paid for the consumption of the service related to the charge
Fill in or modify the fields below:
Charge: Displays the name of the customized charge. If you want to modify the reusable charge before defining it in the charge plan, you can do so by clicking
, modifying the charge, saving your changes and closing its window.
Role: Select one of the following roles that the charge plays in the charge plan:
Commission: Is an amount paid to an agent (third party) such as a sales representative
Sponsorship: Is an amount paid by a sponsor (third party) to a service provider
Discount: Is a deduction in price or amount of a bill paid by the client
Third-Party Billed Commission: Is an amount paid to a third party after being billed by the third party
Other: Select this option if you want to customize the role of the dependent charge
Operation: Is only available if you select the Other option in the Role field above. Select one of the following options:
Debit Client/Partner: The client or partner is debited
Credit Client/Partner: The client or partner is credited
Create New Transaction (*): If selected, a business transaction is created which includes the price amount calculated by the dependent charge. Some fields are available or not depending on which option you select in the Role field. Selecting an option other than Other in the Role field only makes the Client/Partner and Service Provider fields available while selecting the Other option allows you to select or not the Create New Transaction check box. If this check box is selected, all the fields in this area are available; otherwise, they are unavailable.
(*): If you choose not to create a new transaction, all the transactions created by the master charge and related dependent charges are merged into one single transaction; however, all the transaction details resulting from the dependent charges will not appear in the final transaction. Therefore, the transaction details of the dependent charges will be lost permanently.
|
Important: You must keep in mind that once a master charge has been triggered, the related dependent charges are triggered depending on the priority order defined in the Dependencies tab. This is the case with the Use previous discounted amount option. When you select this option, a discount is calculated on the initial amount of the master charge from which the previous discounts have already been subtracted; therefore, the resulting amount of the discount depends on the order of the dependent charges in the dependencies table. |
Relationship Type: If you select the Other option in the Role field and the Create New Transaction check box, the Relationship Type option allows you to tag generated transactions as either Client or Partner.
Adjust Master Transaction: If you select the Other option in the Role field and the Create New Transaction check box, the Adjust Master Transaction check box allows you to enable the amount calculated by the dependent charge to modify the master transaction amount. This will split the amount calculated by the master charge into two transactions: (i) Amount calculated by the dependent charge, and (ii) Amount calculated by the master charge minus the amount calculated by the dependent charge. Leaving the box unchecked will result in the creation of a transaction completely independent of a master charge.
Use previous discounted amount (if any): Is available if the Discount role and the Create New Transaction option are selected. If selected, this option allows you to apply the discount of the dependent charge to the amount of the master charge from which the previous discounts have already been subtracted. For example, the master charge amount "MA" is of $200. The master charge "MA" is linked to three dependent charges having a role of discount "D1" (10%), "D2" (20%), and "D3" (50%). The dependent charges and triggered in the order "D1", "D2", and "D3". When the master charge "MA" is triggered, a transaction of $200 is created. A second transaction is created for the dependent charge "D1": $200 x 10% = $20. A third transaction is created for the dependent charge "D2": ($200 - $20) x 20% = $36. A fourth transaction is created for the dependent charge "D3": ($200 - ($20 + $36) x 50% = $72.
