Customized charge: output items (generation settings)

Create or modify a charge plan before setting up and customize a charge in the charge plan. In the left pane of the charge plan window, click a charge to view, and then open the Output Item tab.

Important: Do not forget that you can create a charged item class from:

Scratch if you use an external billing system or any other external system
The billable item mapping if you work with an SAP ERP system. In this case, when creating a charged item class, you must select the type of the charge item class which depends on the account type linked to the charge plan

You must map charged item classes onto billable item classes generated automatically by SAP Convergent Charging. To do that, you create a charged item class from the mapping of a billable item class. Refer to About billable item mapping for more information when using an SAP ERP system.

The Output Item tab allows you to:

Select the charged item class associated to the charge in the charge plan
Configure the generation of charged items (see charged item mapping) by the charging process:
Change the values or properties of the fields predefined in the charged item class
Assign values to the fields not set in the charged item class
Select the aggregation policy (only relevant for the charging operations performed in the session-based execution mode)

Output Item tab

Fill in or modify the Output Item tab.

Charged Item Based On: Provides the list of the charged item classes. Select a charged item class if you want to replace the charged item class associated to the charge. Click to open the charged item class, and then modify it if necessary. Click to refresh the charged item mapping.

Charged Item Mapping: Provides the list of the fields of the selected charged item class, the respective values or properties of these fields, and the default values of these fields. To display less or more columns, click , and then select the columns you want to display or not.

Charged Item Field: Displays the field names of the charged item class.
Property / Value: Allows you to change the values or properties of the fields depending on the following:
If a property or value is dimmed, it is not recommended changing this property by another property or value.
If a property or value is not dimmed, it is recommended changing this value by another property or value.
Default Value: Displays the field values defined at class level.
Redefine: Allows you to redefine any value of the Property / Value column. Refer to the recommendations listed above and the note below. By default, this column is not visible.

Notes:

It is not recommended changing a property or value that is dimmed. For more information about the Undefined and Empty properties, consult this topic.
If you set up a boolean field, the value is converted by SAP CC during the charging process. Strings "0" and "false" and number 0 are converted to FALSE. Strings "1" and "true" and number 1 are converted to TRUE; otherwise, the charging process fails because it cannot convert the value.

Session-based Options: Provides the list of options which are specific to charging operations performed in the session-based rating:

Aggregation Policy: Provides the list of aggregation policies which are associated to the selected charged item class. Select one of the available aggregation policies or the None element of the list if you do not want to aggregate the generated charged items. Click to open the selected aggregation policy, and then modify it if necessary.
Reporting Scope: Select the reporting scope to use during the aggregation of charged items:
When using the Charged Item value, a reporting condition fulfilled for a given charged item triggers the reporting of the related charged item only.
When using the Session value, a reporting condition fulfilled for a given charged item triggers the reporting of all the charged items of the session.

Note: The Reporting Scope option is not available for dependent charges and allowances.
