Launching Core Tool

Once the required files have been installed on your workstation by your IT administrator, you can launch the SAP CC Core Tool user interface.

Before you begin, make sure that you have the user name and password given by your SAP CC user administrator. Check that you have the host address of the SAP CC Core Server system to connect to.
 

Note: If the Connection dialog box is not displayed after step 2 in the following procedure, refer to your administrator for troubleshooting.

 

To launch Core Tool

This procedure is valid for a MS Windows environment.

  1. Using Windows Explorer, open the SAP Convergent Charging directory.

  2. Open the Bin directory and double-click the core_tool.bat file.
    The Connection dialog box appears.

  3. In the Connection dialog box, type your user name in the Login field.

  4. Type your password in the Password field.

  5. If necessary, modify the Server URL field by specifying an IPv4 or IPv6 address of the SAP CC system.

  6. Click OK. One of the following windows is displayed:

  7. The list of previously failed login authentication attempts

  8. The window used to change your password

  9. The main window of the Core Tool application

  10. The error window indicating a communication issue. Check with your administrator that the SAP CC system is up and running.

Failed Login Authentication Attempts window

This window displays a list of all the previously failed login attempts. Each login attempt is displayed with the following information:

Note: This window provides only information about the connected user.

Password Modification window

The administrator can configure the SAP CC system to use a password management policy which can oblige SAP CC users to change their password.

If the password management policy is enabled and if it applies to you, a message is displayed to inform that your password must be changed. A window is then displayed to change this password.
