Configuration of master data step by step

Prerequisites

The business data is configured in the SAP CC system; First configure necessary business data with Core Tool.

The steps below outline the order in which you create and define new objects when you work with charge plans, refill plans, and provider contracts.

Note: Some of the steps can be performed in an external provisioning system.

1.  Create a pricing catalog for the customer service of a service provider

2. Import the price table if you want to use recurring fees defined in SAP CRM

3. Implement the allowance feature (step optional if you do not use allowances in your charge or in your refill logic). For more information, refer to allowances.

  • You configure the creation of allowances in a dedicated charge (or in a refill logic) through a Create Allowance Operator component.

  • You customize this charge in an additional charge plan (or refill plan) dedicated to define the rules for creating allowances in provider contracts.

If SAP CC is connected to SAP ERP, you must first set up this implementation.

4.  Create chargeable item classes (*)

(*) This step is optional if you do not use a usage rate component in your charge. For more information, refer to About chargeable item classes.

If SAP CC is connected to SAP ERP, you must first create the consumption item mapping.

5.  Create a reusable charge

  • Build a price plan that will be used to charge the service

  • Build a charging plan that will be used to charge accounts

6.  Create charged item classes

If SAP CC is connected to SAP ERP, you must first create the billable item mapping.

7. Create the necessary counter names in the dictionary

8.  Create a charge plan and customize charges for each chargeable subservice of a customer service:

  1. Add master charges and dependent charges

  2. Set up the charge plan and define relationships between master and dependent charges

  3. Set up the customized charges

  4. Release the plan

Option:

If you want to implement top-up or refill services in a prepaid environment, you configure the data as described in steps 9 to 11.

9.  Create a refill item class

  • Define the properties used to perform a refill plan

10.  Create the refill logic

  • Build the refill logic that will be used to refill a prepaid account

11.  Create a refill plan

  1. Add the refill logic

  2. Set up the refill plan and the refill logic

  3. Release the plan

Option:

If you want to implement spending status monitoring services in your system landscape, you configure the business data and master data as described in steps 12 to 15.

12. Create the necessary spending status descriptions that must be jointly known by the policy or monitoring system and the SAP CC system

13. Create dedicated range table classes that define the structure of range tables suitable for configuring monitoring plans

14. Create the necessary range tables that define the spending thresholds of spending status labels

15. Create a monitoring plan

  1. Set up the monitoring plan

  2. Set up the generation of necessary spending statuses

  3. Release the plan

This ends the configuration of the master data related to the service provider in his pricing catalog.

This master data is used in a CRM application to combine charge plans and refill plans in commercial products that end customers can subscribe to.

The master data related to the end customers (mostly subscriber accounts and provider contracts) is automatically created in SAP CC when the system is connected to an external provisioning system or CRM application.

You can simulate these creations.

16.  Create a subscriber account

  1. Add accounts (prepaid, external postpaid)

  2. Set up the accounts

Option: You can create a subscriber mapping table or some subscriber range tables for this subscriber account.

17.  Create a provider contract

  1. Set up the provider contract

  2. Add contract items to the provider contract

  3. Set up the contract items

Option: You can create a subscriber mapping table or subscriber range table for each provider contract relating to the new subscriber account.

18.  Correct if necessary

  • Rerate if exceptional mistakes or errors occur in charge plans, provider contracts, or price plans, for example.
