Note: This chapter is relevant only if you use SAP Convergent Charging with SAP Convergent Invoicing in SAP ERP/FI-CA in an integrated SAP Solution scenario. The system landscape includes one or more SAP ERP/FI-CA systems and one or more SAP CRM systems. For more information, refer to the SAP CC Configuration Guide (see help resources). |
As of SP05, SAP Convergent Charging defines logical system pairs that include an SAP ERP/FI-CA system and an SAP CRM system. A pair identifies the SAP systems connected to SAP CC that are responsible for the master data management and that are involved in the following business processes:
Transactional data about service usage (billable items, consumption items)
Customer master data provisioning and maintenance (subscriber accounts), which is the business partner management function in an SAP Solution scenario
ABM notifications about prepaid accounts (balance amount alerts, expiration alerts), which is the business agreement management function in the SAP solution
A customer management area defines:
A unique area name in SAP CC whose name includes the SAP system ID (SID) of the SAP ERP/FI-CA system in the area in combination with the SAP Client number.
A JCo destination of the SAP ERP/FI-CA system that belongs to this area that manages master data in SAP CC
A JCo destination of the SAP CRM system that belongs to this area and that receives ABM notifications
|
Note: The Core Tool user interface verifies that each area includes at least the information related to an SAP ERP system. When your system landscape includes one or more SAP CRM systems, each customer management area must include the necessary information relating to an SAP CRM system. |
In an integrated SAP Solution scenario, each area defines the SAP ERP system that is responsible for creating and maintaining the subscriber accounts in the master data stored in the SAP CC system as part of the business partner management function in the system landscape. This information is stored in the subscriber accounts by each ERP system and is visible in the Definition tab in Core Tool.

One of the customer management areas is the default area. The SAP CC system considers this area when performing the business processes that relate to a subscriber account without any customer management area.
You must have the Administrator role in your SAP CC user profile to manage customer management areas.
Setting up a customer management area.
You cannot transport this business data.
You must manually maintain this configuration. For example, you can add a new area, change an existing area, or delete an unused area. Once configured, the list of customer management areas cannot be emptied.
