In SAP Convergent Charging, the refilling business scenario enables to credit the prepaid account of a customer. For example, the customer can refill a prepaid account manually through a refill card or an ATM. In this case, a system such as a voucher management system sends a refill item to SAP Convergent Charging which performs the refill plan depending on the information contained in the refill item. SAP Convergent Charging can also refill a prepaid account automatically, for example, when the balance of a prepaid account goes below a defined threshold or if the refill of a prepaid account depends on a periodic event.
A refill plan defines the refilling conditions to credit the prepaid account of a customer. SAP CRM or an external provisioning system first combines a refill plan with charge plans, and then SAP CRM or the external system activates the refill plan in the provider contract of the customer.
The refill plan consists of:
The refill logic
A set of parameters to configure the refill logic (for example, the frequency of a periodic refill)
A release status which can be open, released, or obsolete
