Caution: Do not modify or delete range tables with Core Tool when SAP Convergent Charging is integrated with a CRM application or a provisioning system. Modifying or deleting range tables may result in inconsistencies between the two systems because of data replication and synchronization mechanisms. To modify a range table, you must use the CRM or provisioning system.

A range table
is a table of business data for mapping ranges of positive numbers to a set of output string or number values that represent prices, unit prices, or credits. Some combinatorial rules can be applied to output columns to compute supplementary values. You must configure the pricing logic that defines the computation algorithm of the final values.
A range table consists of a set of rows. Each row of the range table consists of a value range defined by its upper bound to which corresponds a set of values from the output columns (O1, O2, O3,..., On).
A range table is included in the pricing catalog of the service provider and is part of its master data. A range table allows you to create new properties that you can use in the price plan, in the monitoring plan, in the refill logic, or in the allowance logic. You define and freeze the structure of a range table in a range table class.
You use range tables to configure the pricing logic that includes tiered pricing with convergent charging services based on provider contracts. If the tiered pricing is based on customer data you must use subscriber range tables belonging to a subscriber account. See few examples.
|
Note: You can easily use and select directly an existing range table or select the appropriate table in a charge plan. It is also possible to redefine this selection in each provider contract by referring to a range table or a subscriber range table. |
Before creating a range table, you must create, set up, and save a range table class. You perform the following steps to use the range tables:
Create a range table
Set up the range table
Save the range table
Use the range table in one or several price plans (or in the refill logic) by using a Range Table Introducer as Comparator component. See the Component Help for more information on this logic components. We recommend that you determine the appropriate customization level of the range table that must be processed by the SAP CC system.
Delete the range table
You can use the same range table class for configuring different range tables.
After you have created a range table, you can then add it to the price plan of a charge or to the refill logic. You can use the same range table more than once in any price plan or refill logic.
This master data may be created an maintained by an external system connected to the SAP CC system during the product modeling process.
SAP CRM manages some range tables stored in SAP CC.
You can modify and save different versions of a range table.
You can:
Import a range table
You can modify and delete the rows of a range table, but you will save a new version of the range table. You cannot change the name of the range table or the name of the related range table class.
