Note: This section is relevant only if you use SAP Convergent Charging with SAP ERP/FI-CA with the business function for managing consumption items in an integrated SAP Solution scenario. For more information, refer to the SAP CC Configuration Guide (see help resources). |
Defined in the SAP ERP/FI-CA reference system, consumption item classes are basically chargeable item classes with additional data fields for control purposes.
The consumption item mapping consists in mapping chargeable item classes onto consumption item classes defined in the SAP ERP/FI-CA reference system. SAP Convergent Charging first uses the consumption item mapping to convert chargeable items into consumption items, and then loads the consumption items into SAP ERP/FI-CA for data storage. This mapping may transform a property into another one with a different name or a different format when it is expected by the SAP ERP/FI-CA system.
|
Note: If a consumption item class has been changed in the SAP ERP/FI-CA reference system, you must refresh the existing consumption item mapping defined in SAP Convergent Charging. For more information, refer to your system administrator or refer to the maintenance procedure described in the SAP CC Configuration Guide (see help resources). |
The consumption item mapping is not part of the master data and is not included in a pricing catalog. The consumption item mapping represents business data configured for an SAP Convergent Charging system.
The consumption item mapping is graphically represented by a table that displays the names of the consumption item class, the chargeable item class, and all the properties of the mapping. Note that the first column of the table displays the property name of the consumption item class while the second column displays the property name of the chargeable item class. At the top of the table, the Module Function field displays the name of the module function relating to the structure of the consumption item class (information only relevant for SAP ERP/FI-CA).
SAP Convergent Charging converts chargeable items into consumption items, and then loads them into SAP ERP/FI-CA for charging or deferred charging purposes, for example.
