Modifying a reusable charge

You can modify a price plan or a charging plan and add to or remove counter declarations or parameters from a previously saved charge. When you save the charge in the database, you can modify its versions.

You cannot modify the name, the charge type, or the currency of a charge.

Important: About making retroactive changes to a charge.

If you modify a price either in a charge or through a shared variable such as parameter or counter in a charge plan, and then you save the charge or the charge plan to an earlier date than the effective date of the last version, all transactions already rated between both dates will not take this change into account.

For example, in the charge "Telephone Services", the customer is charged $0.10 per call minute. You decide to change the price of a telephone call to $0.05. In the related charge plan, you modify the parameter shared by the charge to calculate the price of a telephone call. Instead of saving the charge plan to the effective date of the last version set to the 1st of July, you save the charge plan to the 1st of January. According to the rule described earlier, all transactions that have already been rated between the 1st of January and the 1st of July will not be modified.
