Caution: Read the caution about the billable item mapping before deleting a charged item class. |
You use the charged item classes to configure the information included in the charged items, which are the resulting transactions of the charging process. You also use the charged item classes to describe and filter the details of transactions returned to the caller of the rating process.
In the graphical user interface of SAP CC Core Tool, a tree that consists of nodes represents a charged item class. Each node represents a value whose type can be a string
, a number
, a date
, or a boolean
. The tree allows you to configure how these values are generated by the system.
You can create and use charged item classes for different charges customized in a charge plan.
If you want to send charged item classes to an external billing system or any other external system, you must create the charged item classes from scratch, and then set them up.
Because you know the contents of the transactions resulting from the rating and charging processes, you can define and set up the data of your charged item classes accordingly to retrieve information from the transactions. Your system billing or another system receives and uses this information.
SAP Convergent Charging is integrated with SAP ERP/FI-CA for managing high-volume data. SAP Convergent Charging can:
Produce billable items asynchronously from the converted charged items
Send the billable items to SAP Convergent Invoicing of SAP ERP/FI-CA
You must map charged item classes onto billable item classes defined in SAP Convergent Invoicing. SAP Convergent Charging generates automatically. To do that, you create a charged item class from the mapping of a billable item class. Refer to About billable item mapping for more information when using SAP Convergent Invoicing and SAP ERP/FI-CA.
