Customizing a charge in a charge plan

Customizing a charge in a charge plan means configuring aspects of it to meet the requirements of the charge plan. You can set up a charge in the charge plan root.

You must set up a charge plan before setting up a charge. A Charge Plan window must be open.

To customize a charge in a charge plan

  1. In the left pane of the Charge Plan window, make sure that the charge is selected; otherwise, select it.

  2. In the right pane of the charge plan window, you can change the name of the customized charge. Note that two charges cannot have the same name. If several charges have the same name, the names are followed by a number to uniquely identify each charge.
    Example:
    A charge is named "SMS monthly fee". In the same charge plan, you add another charge with the same name, then its name will automatically be "SMS monthly fee#1". If you add a third charge with the same name, its name will be "SMS monthly fee#2" and so on.

  3. In the right pane of the Charge Plan window, set up the following tabs of the customized charge:

  5. Counters

  6. Parameters

  7. Tax

  8. Output Item

  9. Response Item

  10. Account Assignments

  11. Technical Data

 

When setting up a customized charge, only the Definition tab is mandatory. The other tabs are optional.

 

Notes:

  • If you save the charge plan before defining the charge inside it, you cannot adjust the charge values later. If a charge is incorrectly defined once the charge plan is saved, you must delete the charge plan, and then recreate it.

  • If the Counters or Parameters tabs of a charge are unavailable (dimmed), this means a counter or a parameter was not used at charge level.
