Caution: Be careful if you want to delete the billable item mapping and the related charged item classes and refill record classes in a production system landscape where SAP Convergent Charging is installed and configured for working with SAP Convergent Invoicing. Deleting these objects may prevent SAP Convergent Charging from converting charged items or refill records into billable items and loading them into SAP Convergent Invoicing. Make sure that SAP Convergent Charging no longer uses these objects before deleting them.
This caution also applies to the consumption item mapping and the related chargeable item classes. |

Note: This chapter is relevant only if you use SAP Convergent Charging with SAP Convergent Invoicing in SAP ERP/FI-CA. For more information, refer to the SAP CC Configuration Guide (see help resources). |
Defined in the SAP ERP reference system, billable item classes are basically charged item classes or refill record classes with additional fields for control purposes.
SAP Convergent Charging creates business transactions (transactional data) called charged items in the case of the charging process or called refill records in the case of the refilling process. The SAP CC system can load these transactions into one or more SAP ERP/FI-CA systems through billable items and according to the billable item mapping.
The billable item mapping consists in mapping charged item classes or refill record classes onto billable item classes defined in a particular SAP ERP/FI-CA system that is the ERP reference system in the system landscape. SAP CC first uses the billable item mapping to convert charged items or refill records into billable items, and then loads the billable items into the relevant SAP ERP/FI-CA system that is declared in the identified subscriber account (see customer management area).
|
Note: The Core Tool user interface can automatically create the charged item class (or refill record class) to facilitate the configuration of the charge plans and refill plans. |
Because the SAP ERP/FI-CA reference system defines the billable item classes and modifies their contents if necessary, you can refresh the mapping of the billable item classes to avoid any error relating to the creation and validation of the billable item classes.
|
Important: If a billable item class has been changed in the SAP ERP/FI-CA reference system, you must modify the existing billable item mapping defined in SAP Convergent Charging. For more information, refer to your administrator or refer to the maintenance procedure described in the SAP CC Configuration Guide of SAP Convergent Charging (see help resources). |
The billable item mapping is not part of the master data and is not included in a pricing catalog. The billable item mapping represents business data configured for an SAP CC system.
The billable item mapping is graphically represented by a tree that consists of nodes. Each node has a type which can be a string
, a number
, a date
, or a boolean
.
A node defines the format of the data generated in the billable items and specifies a source field from the charged items or the refill records.
For more information about the relationships between billable item mapping and charged item classes, refer to About charged item classes.
For the relationships between billable item mapping and refill record classes, refer to About refill record classes.
