The Counter Operator component updates a counter of a plan. To update a counter, you can:
Reset the counter
Assign a value such as a constant or numerical property to the counter
Add a value such as a constant or numerical property to the counter
Subtract a value such as a constant or numerical property from the counter
In a periodic-type telephone calling plan, the Counter Operator can allow you to up.grade the “number of hours in the calling plan” counter and reset this counter at the beginning of the period.
A monthly calling plan includes two hours of free call time for customers. This plan is billed using a recurring rate component for monthly subscriptions and a usage rate component for calls. The price plan contains a counter “number of hours in calling plan”. In the recurring rate branch, this counter is reset to the original value of two hours at the beginning of the month by using a Counter Operator component. In the usage rate branch, a Counter Operator component subtracts the duration of each call from the counter “number of hours in calling plan”.
Name: Type the name of the component (mandatory).
Description: Allows you to type the description of the component (optional).
Counter Name: Allows you to type the name of the counter that you want to update.
Counter operation: Provides the list of counter updates. Select one of the following counter updates:
Reset to the initial value (*): The counter is set to its initial value.
Set to the value defined below (*): The counter is set to the Operation Value
Add the value defined below: The Operation Value is added to the counter value.
Subtract the value defined below: The Operation Value is subtracted from the counter value.

Operation value: Allows you to type the value that updates the counter, or allows you to select a numerical property that represents the value.
Update During the Reservation for a Session: This option is available only when you select a transient counter. If selected, this option means that the transient counter is updated during the reservation time within a session. This option does not change the behavior of a persistent counter.
