System Landscape

SAP Plant Connectivity (PCo) is an application that enables the exchange of data between business systems and industry-specific standard data sources of different manufacturers, such as ERP systems, ME systems, databases, process control systems, or plant historian systems.

With PCo, you can receive tags and events from connected tag-based servers in production, either automatically or upon request, and forward them to connected servers.

The following graphic provides an overview of the integration of the Plant Connectivity system in the system landscape.

When you use a PCo Web service destination system, you can directly transfer data from the shop floor to a third-party system, such as an SAP ME system. In this case the destination system is a SAP ME system or another supplier of Web services.
