Settings for the Object Navigator
In the Navigator Settings
window, you can enter values for particular attributes (such as validity date) of a central object for each view and object type.
The system offers parameters for the central object type, the associated relations, and the child object types. The parameters are grouped according to their validity for individual views.
Note
You can personalize the navigator settings, as follows:
In Customizing for the object navigator, you can make settings to personalize the navigator settings. You can specify which parameters are to be ignored in the navigator settings. The system does not offer these parameters for personalization in the navigator settings.
For more information, see Customizing for .
Views that you have personalized in the object navigator have an effect on the possible navigator settings. You can only personalize the non-hidden views there (see Functions of the Object Navigator on the Web User Interface).
View
You select a view for the current object type of your central object and you can enter values for particular attributes (such as validity date).
User Settings
Maximum Entries to be Expanded
This field helps object navigator application to render results faster by restricting entries displayed during levels expansion of an object containing huge structures and relations. System ignores the entries count during level 1 expansion of tree structure and expands completely. For expansion to a level greater than 1, the application restricts number of levels to the value in this field and does not expand further levels completely. In such cases, user has to expand further levels manually.
Read Subordinate Items in Advance
If you select this checkbox, the system reads all lower-level items prior to the expansion. The symbols that are displayed indicate whether an item has further lower-level items.
Personalize Navigator Settings
Personalize Values
You can save the parameterization so that it is also valid for all further object navigator sessions.
Delete Personalization
You can delete the personalization.
Note
This parameterization of individual views always has a global effect. This means it has an effect on all objects of this object type that were processed in the current object navigator session. Changing the parameters can therefore cause elements in the breadcrumb trail to become invalid.
Example
If you change the validity date in a view and subsequently the central object becomes invalid, the system cannot determine further objects that are related to the central object. The system issues a corresponding message.
