Define Direct Connection
Use
You use a direct connection to configure direct communication between two business systems.
The direct connection contains the following settings:

Assignment to receiver interface

Assignment to receiver channel
-
Adapter-Specific Attributes
These attributes define the configuration settings for the sender (Web service client).
Procedure
Use the following steps to define the direct connection in the Integration Directory.

Call the create dialog for a direct connection.

Specify the key of the direct connection.
The key contains the key fields for sender party, sender communication component, and sender interface, as well as receiver party and receiver communication component.

Select the business systems that are to communicate using the Web service runtime as the sender and receiver communication components.

Assign the receiver interface to the direct connection.
You can use the input help to select interfaces that are defined for the receiver communication component contained in the key of the direct connection.

Assign the direct connection the receiver communication channel (adapter type WS) that you defined for the receiver system.

The input help only displays the receiver channels that have been defined for the receiver business system.

Specify the adapter-specific attributes for the direct connection.
You use the adapter-specific attributes to specify the configuration settings relevant to the Web service consumer.

Save and activate the direct connection.
