Assigning Communication Channels

Use

When you configure a connection, you can assign a communication channel and evaluate the associated integrated configuratoin.

Prerequisites

You have called the Configure Connection dialog and have activated at least one sender/receiver relation.

Procedure

You can assign a communication channel to a sender/receiver relation in different ways.

Assigning Communication Channels Using Input Help

You can select a communication channel from the list of existing communication channels. To do so, call the input help from the Communication Channel column.

The input help first displays existing integrated configurations for the sender/receiver relation. If a matching integrated configuration exists, then the list of possible values will only contain the communication channel that is assigned to this integrated configuration. If no matching integrated configuration exists, the input help displays all communication channels that are assigned to the communication component.

Creating Communication Channels with Communication Channel Templates

You can create a communication channel on the basis of a communication channel template. To do so, in the Communication Channel column, call the context menu and choose Start of the navigation pathCreate Communication Channel Next navigation step Create Communication Channel with TemplateEnd of the navigation path.

Using the wizard, you select a communication channel from the Enterprise Services Repository and then create a communication channel based on it.

If the connection has already been assigned a communication channel template, it is the default communication channel template.

Creating Communication Channels with Templates

You can create a new communication channel on the basis of an existing communication channel. The communication channel is then used as a copy template.

To do so, in the Communication Channel column, call the context menu and choose Start of the navigation pathCreate Communication Channel Next navigation step Create Communication Channel as CopyEnd of the navigation path.
