Learn how to use an onboarding token to connect charging stations to SAP E-Mobility.

Note After having added your charging stations to SAP E-Mobility, validate the charging station configuration. Check out the guided tour on this topic.

Ready to onboard your charging stations?

To connect your charging stations to SAP E-Mobility, open the Onboard Charging Stations app.

Choose Create to generate an onboarding token.
Tip You can use a single onboarding token to onboard several charging stations.

Use the Description field to identify the onboarding token purpose, like the charging station type or a specific onboarding use case.

Click the icon and set an Expiration Date to restrict the token validity.

Select a date and time in the future, and choose OK.

Select a Site Area. The site area chosen is automatically provided to the charging stations you will onboard using this onboarding token.

When you're done, click Create.

Find the onboarding token you've just created in the list.

Make sure that the status is Valid.

Note If your token is Revoked or Expired, you can edit it to extend its validity.

Click Copy to Clipboard to retrieve the URL of the onboarding token you've just created.

Paste the URL to the web interface of your charging stations, then save your changes and reboot your charging stations.
Note The field name on charging station web interfaces differs from SAP E-Mobility. 'OCPP' or 'supervision platform' may be mentioned instead.

Go back to the home page.

To confirm that your charging stations are connected to SAP E-Mobility, open the Manage Charging Stations app.

Confirm that your charging stations are in the list.
Tip

If the charging stations are missing from the list, search for BootNotification messages in the Application Logs app.

To confirm that the onboarding token has been configured correctly, confirm that the charging station's status is Connected.

The Registration Status tells you the current status of your charging station registration with SAP E-Mobility.

The following statuses are available:

  • If the charging station is Accepted, the registration of your charging stations is complete.

  • If the charging station is Rejected, check the logs to analyze and fix any issues.

  • If the charging station is Pending and doesn't automatically become Accepted after a few minutes, you need to finalize the registration with SAP E-Mobility.

If under Registration Status, your charging station is Accepted, you're all set!

Otherwise, finalize your charging station registration using the guided tour Validating Charging Station Configuration.
