Service Contract Templates

Use

You use service contract templates to define reusable data, which minimizes the amount of time required to create a service contract, a usage-based service contract, or a service contract quotation.

Prerequisites

  • You have configured the transactions for service contract templates in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation pathTransactions Next navigation step Basic SettingsEnd of the navigation path.

    The service contract template is predefined as follows in Customizing:

    • Transaction type: SCT for service contract templates

    • Item categories: SCNT for service contract templates and SMPT for service plans

  • You have set up copying control. For more information, see Copying Business Transactions.

Features

Depending on your Customizing settings, you can:

  • Create a new service contract template

  • Copy an existing service contract template

  • Create a service contract or service contract quotation as a follow-up transaction, based on the service contract template

  • Create a service contract template as a follow-up transaction, based on a service contract or a service contract quotation

Example

You create service contracts often for the maintenance of your copier, which is type XY. To make it easier to create service contracts, you create a service contract template, in which you enter the item data of the services in the product list, such as change cartridge and clean cylinder, and define the appropriate conditions.
