Operational Reporting in HCM (Operational Data Provisioning)
This structure contains the documents that describe operational reporting for components of Human Capital Management
(HCM) based on Operational Data Provisioning
.
Operational Data Provisioning
is a metadata concept in SAP NetWeaver that gives an analytic query access to operative data in a backend system. It also supports replication scenarios.
Predefined content is delivered for operational reporting for various application areas.
For more information about the configuration of Operational Analytics
, see SAP Solution Manager under .
Note
Operational Data Provisioning
and the analytics search use a common modeling environment. In the modeling of the search and analytics model, an operational data provider (ODP) is defined on the basis of DataSources.
Additionally, you can change the search and analytics models, or create your own models.
For more information about the concept, see the documentation of SAP NetWeaver under Operational Data Provisioning and Operational Analytics with Operational Data Provisioning.
You can use operational reporting for real-time analysis of data from the HCM components. You can access the data in your live system directly without having to replicate the data into a separate BW system first, as is the case when using SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse (SAP NetWeaver BW). In this way, for small amounts of data, you always use realtime data for your evaluations and can react promptly.
Note
For larger amounts of data, we recommend indexing the data at regular intervals using connectors in TREX (Search and Classification). In this way, you can achieve a shorter reaction time for the query.
A set of new queries that are based on Operational Data Provisioning
is available for your evaluations. The queries are based on TransientProviders, which in turn are based on search and analytics models.
