Mesh Select Tool in Standard Layout (New)

The Mesh Select tool is now in Standard Layout. The Mesh Select tool allows you to edit individual mesh features; for example, vertices, faces, and surfaces.​

Highlight Selection Tool in Standard Layout (New).

The Highlight Selection tool is now in Standard Layout. The Highlight Selection tool allows highlighting of individual mesh features.​

Change Management - Layer Reattachment when updating CAD originals (Enhanced)

If components are identified when a CAD original is updated, layers are automatically reattached. If components are not, SAP 3D Visual Enterprise Author displays them in the Unresolved tab of the Review Changes window so that you can reconnect them manually.​

VDS Import Setting: Search components by (New)

A new import setting is available to define the loading of VDS shattered assemblies. Components are now located either by File Name or Component ID.

Licensing Method by Activation Code

Licensing method by Activation Code has now been deprecated.

CAD (Enhanced)

The CAD importers were updated as follows:

  • Solid Edge file format: 2019 support.

  • SolidWorks file format: 2019 support.

  • JT reader: Supports 10.3 JT files. JT Export 10.2, 10.3.

  • CATIA V6/3DExperience file format: R2018x Support

  • Creo file format: Creo 5.0 support.

  • IFC file format:

    • IFC now reads unit information for metadata values.

    • IFC Reader imports groups information and add it to metadata, creates a category called IFCGROUP and populates the group name to which each node belongs.

    • IFC Reader imports layers information.

  • General Fixes and Enhancements:

    • All CAD readers have been upgraded with improvements and bug fixes.

    • Solid Edge file format: Reader upgraded to handle new format. Now reads more custom occurrence properties.

    • All formats: Precision optimization in tessellation routines. As a result there are some changes in vertex count which are under an acceptable threshold.
