Setting Mapping Indicators
Prerequisites
You have created the mapping.
Context
Using the Mappings node, you determine the purpose of the mapping using the mapping indicators ( Filter, Import, Export, Create DB, Create LDAP, and RDN (Relative Distinguished Name)). An SAP data field can be contained in more than one mapping for different purposes (for example, user name in the attributes sapUsername and cn (Common name)).
Procedure
-
In transaction LDAP, choose Server.
The system displays the Display Server View: Overview screen.
-
Switch to change mode.
-
Select the directory server for which you want to set the mapping indicators.
-
Choose the Mapping option from the Dialog Structure tree by double clicking it.
The system displays the Mapping Overview screen (transaction LDAPMAP). The name of the selected logical directory server automatically appears in the Server Name field.
-
Set the mapping indicators.
The indicators have the following meanings:
Indicator
Meaning
Filter
Mapping used for the search filter
Import Mapping
Mapping used for import to the SAP database
Export Mapping
Mapping used for export to the LDAP-compatible directory service
Create DB
Specifies that this attribute is imported when a new entry is created in the database, irrespective of the setting of the synchronization indicator.
Create LDAP
Specifies that this attribute is exported when a new entry is created in the directory, irrespective of the setting of the synchronization indicator.
RDN Mapping
Specifies that, when a new entry is created in the directory, this attribute contains the value of the Relative Distinguished Name, which forms the Distinguished Name of the new entry together with the Base DN of the server.
-
Choose Back to leave the Mapping Overview screen and save your entries.
Results
You have set the mapping indicators and can now set the synchronization indicators.
