Renaming Parameters

Use

You can rename parameters directly in the parameter list. You can choose whether the parameter should also be renamed in all other usage locations.

Procedure

To rename parameters, proceed as follows:

1. In the parameter list, overwrite the parameter name and save your entry or press ENTER.

   The Rename and Adapt Parameter dialog box appears. In this window, you can rename, rename and adapt, and copy the parameter.

2. If you only want to rename the parameter at this location, choose Rename. If you want to rename the parameter and change the parameter name at all usage locations in the test script at the same time, choose Rename and Adapt.

3. If you want to check the list of usage locations before renaming, choose Display All Usage Locations of Parameter.

   You use the Adapt checkbox to specify whether the parameter name is to be adapted at the respective usage location or not. If you do not flag an entry, the new parameter name is not inserted at this usage location. All list entries are flagged by default. You can use the relevant icons to select or deselect all entries.

   The Usage Location row displays where the parameter is used. Possible usage locations are:

   • Lines of the current test script

   • Interfaces of the current test script

   The exact path to the usage location is displayed alongside.
