Assigning Start Profile Test Procedure Parameters to Test Configuration Variants

Use

Assigning start profile test procedure parameters to test configurations is the second of three steps that enable you to use start profile test procedure parameters.

Prerequisites

You have performed the step Defining Test Procedure Parameters in Start Profile.

Procedure

To assign start profile test procedure parameters to test configuration variants, proceed as follows:

  1. Call transaction SECATT and choose Test Configuration.

  2. Create a new test configuration or open a test configuration to be changed.

  3. Select the Configuration tab and enter the required start profile in the field of the same name.

  4. Switch to the Variants tab and use the Add Variant button to add new variants.

  5. You now have two options:

    • You can assign start profile test procedure parameters to single variant fields.

To do this, call the F4 help in the variant parameter field.

A new window opens. In this window, choose Start Profile - Data for Test Procedure. The list of start profile test procedure parameters is displayed. Select a parameter from the list and choose OK. The selected test procedure parameter is assigned to the variant parameter (naming convention: TESTRUN −> <start profile parameter name>). Repeat these steps for all other variant fields that you want to assign start profile test procedure parameters to.

    • You can also assign start profile test procedure parameters to variant fields by row or by column.

However, you can only assign variant parameters by row or by column if the test procedure parameters of the start profile have the same names as the variant import parameters. If the parameter names are the same, select all variant rows or variant parameter columns that you want to assign the start profile test procedure parameters to, and choose the button to assign start profile test procedure parameters. This button is only visible if a start profile is maintained in the test configuration on the Configuration tab. All selected variant parameter columns or variant rows are assigned the relevant start profile test procedure parameters (naming convention: TESTRUN −> <start profile parameter name>).

  6. Save the test configuration.

Result

You have assigned the relevant test procedure parameters from the start profile to the variant import parameters. You can now execute the test configuration or the test package with the test procedure parameters.
