Overview and Concepts

SAP Commerce Cloud Data Hub moves data items from one system to another. During the process of moving the data, you have the opportunity to modify the data. While your data is in the Data Hub, each item has a status assigned to it. The status changes whenever the data begins or completes a process.

This topic group covers several foundational concepts for the Data Hub. You see a simplified, but detailed data flow, which expands on what you learned in Data Hub Fundamentals. There is a good discussion of data handling, which dovetails well with the data flow topic. There is also an introduction to Data Hub extensions, which are required to make it function.

When you have completed this topic group, you should understand how information moves from a source system, through the Data Hub, to a target system. You learn what tools Data Hub employs at the macro level to process data, and understand Data Hub extensions and how extensions are constructed.
