Function documentationApplication-to-Application Navigation Concept in MSS (WDA)

There are two basic types of application-to-application navigation in Manager Self-Service (WDA):

  • Launchpad-defined call of a Web Dynpro ABAP application

  • Launchpad-defined call based on Object Based Navigation (OBN)

Note Note

Launchpad-defined means that you define this navigation via transaction LPD_CUST for the services contained in the Launchpad for your Portal role.

The navigation type used is handled internally within each application. For more information, see the individual application documentation under Applications for Manager Self-Service (WDA).

End of the note.

Prerequisites

In the case of an OBN-based call, the Business Objects used in the call have to be defined or present in the following locations:

  • in the case of SAP NetWeaver Business Client, in transaction PFCG (together with the role menu) or in the Business Object Repository (BOR) in the back-end system

  • in the case of SAP NetWeaver Portal, in the SAP NetWeaver Portal Content Catalog
