You can use this business function to activate Manager Self-Service
based completely on Web Dynpro ABAP technology for both deployment options for the Manager role:

You have activated the business function HCM, MSS on Web Dynpro ABAP (HCM_MSS_WDA_1)
The following features and applications are available with this business function along, with the new manager roles for the two deployment options:
With this release Substitution functionality is enabled for the following set of Manager Self-Service (WDA) applications as well as workflow and non-workflow based tasks in the Work Overview of the Manager Self-Service (WDA).
The Substitution capability is enabled for both workflow and non-workflow based Leave Approval
, CATS Approval
and Clock In/Out Approvals
Team-specific applications such as Home Page
, Team Page,
Process and Forms
and Recruiting
in Manager Self-Service are enabled for substitution.
All employee and organization specific applications offered in the standard in theTeam View
are also available in substitution mode.
The substitution functionality also provides the following enhancements
A new application, Substitution Overview
that is used by a substitute to carry out work on behalf of the manager.
A new view on the Home Page
called Substitution
which gives an overview of the substitutions.
Manage Substitutions
application which is used by a manager to view and manage the substitutions.
A new PFCG role SAP_MANAGER_MSS_SUBST_SR_NWBC
for the substitute is available, so that non-managers who are acting as a substitute can work on behalf of a manager.
A new list of reports, based on Operational Data Provisioning
(ODP) is offered in the new reporting launchpad Role: MSS
and Instance: REP2.
These reports require the business function HCM_ANALYTICS_2
to
be activated. The following new reports are offered:

Note
The previously available reports are not included in the standard set of reports in the new manager role. These old reports continue to be supported and, if required, you must explicitly include them in the new launchpad for reporting.
These new reports have a Web Dynpro ABAP based User Interface (UI).
The report selection uses the Selection User Interface Building Block
(UIBB) and the queries are so configured to make use of the OADP (Object and Data Provider) for employee selection.
The report output uses the Analytics List User Interface Building Block
(UIBB) which offers features like export to XLS, print, and navigation capabilities to other applications directly from the report output.

The view in the Home Page is enhanced and customers now have the option to specify more than one employee selection option, for example Direct Reports
and All Employees

The previous version allowed only one selection option and in the standard delivery this was Direct Reports

Competency Matchup
The view is enhanced with an employee selection option of Direct Reports
and All Employees
. The user interface has also been enhanced for better usability. It
is now possible to initiate the sending of E-mail reminders.
Team View
The Team
view in the Home Page
is enhanced so that it now shows Positions
in the Organization View
. Empty
positions are also highlighted separately. It is also now possible to launch the Detailed Team View
in the tool bar. The Employee Menu
has been rearranged to make it easier to read.
Deadline Monitor
The view in the Home Page
is enhanced such that subordinate managers deadlines are now hidden. You can choose to include this additionally, if required. The status New
is
changed to Not Started.
Time Recording
The dashboard is enhanced by allowing you to go directly to Approve Working Times
by clicking on the graph.
Profile Applications
Employee Profile

have undergone usability enhancement. The Filter
button
is now a toggle link named Reset Selection Criteria
Leave Approval
The user interface is enhanced to show leave periods that conflict with other team members, so that leave approvals can be acted upon instantly.
