Partner Role

Use

The master data record of a partner role is used to define a business partner. The partner role includes information about the activities that the business partner can carry out and where the business partner carries out these activities. Stockholding objects, such as plants and storage locations can also be defined as partner roles.

A partner role is defined using master data records, such as a vendor, customer, or plant. When you define a partner role for a business partner who performs activities within the supply chain, you assign transport systems and/or locations to the master data record of the partner role.

Note Note

In Customizing you can assign additional partner roles to the role shipper. The system uses this assignment for all master data records that you create using the partner role type of shipper. By selecting multiple roles for the shipper, you can represent all of the possible activities that the shipper can perform at the locations along the transport system to which the shipper has been assigned.

To do this, in Customizing choose Start of the navigation path TSW (Trader's and Scheduler's Workbench) Next navigation step Master Data Next navigation step Define additional partner roles for shipper. End of the navigation path

End of the note.

Structure

Each partner object (vendor, customer, plant, storage location) corresponds to certain pre-defined role types. The partner role type determines the business function that the partner performs. You can also assign a transport system and/or location, when creating the master data record of each partner role.

The following table shows the assignments that are necessary to create certain TSW partner roles:
