Weight Test Cases in Test Plan

Context

You can weight test cases in the test plan, by their scope or their relevance to the overall test result.

Procedure

  1. Create a profile in transaction STWB_SET.
  2. Weight the test case priorities:
    1. Choose Start of the navigation pathTest Case Weighting Next navigation step Change Next navigation step New EntriesEnd of the navigation path, in transaction STWB_SET.

    2. Choose the profile you created in step 1.

    3. Assign a weighting factor (1 to 9, Very High to Low) to the test case priorities.

  3. Assign your profile to your test plan:
    1. Choose your test plan in the Test Plan Management initial screen, and Start of the navigation pathGoto Next navigation step Attributes Next navigation step ChangeEnd of the navigation path.

    2. Choose your profile in the Standards tab.

  4. Assign a priority to the test cases in your test plan in the test case attributes in the Others tab in the Planning Data box.

  1. Weight the priority Very High with factor 4, the other priorities with factor 1.

  2. Assign the priority Very High to test case A.

  3. Assign the priority Low to test case B.

    The test plan only contains the test cases A and B.

  4. Test A has the result Errors.

  5. Test B has the result OK.
