How do I enable Lumira content on mobile?

While installing SAP Lumira, server for BI Platform, you must check the Mobile Web Application option in the feature tree to enable Lumira content on mobile. For more information, refer Administrator's Guide.

Is Lumira content compatible with my mobile device?

Lumira content is compatible with iOS 9 and above. However, it is not supported on iPad2 and iPhone.

Note
  • It is recommended to use devices with memory greater than 1 GB.

  • SAP Lumira Designer 2.0 documents are supported on iPhone.

What are the supported connections for accessing Lumira content on mobile?

All SAP BusinessObjects BI platform connections are supported for accessing Lumira content on mobile.

How do I handle access rights for Lumira content?

Along with SAP BusinessObjects Mobile application rights, following are the rights supported for SAP Lumira on mobile:
  • View Document: The Lumira object is listed in the application only if you have this right.
  • View Instance: You can view the document instance only if you have this right.
  • Refresh: You can refresh the Lumira document only if you have this right.
    Note You do not see the Refresh icon on the toolbar if you do not have refresh rights.

How do I list Lumira content?

By default, the following documents are listed on the home page of the application:
  • Documents of SAP Lumira 2.0.
  • Documents from SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio 1.6 and below.
  • Mixed content of SAP Lumira 2.0
Note Mobile and MobileDesigned categories are ignored for Lumira content.

How do I interact with Lumira content listed on the Home Page?

You can search the Lumira content locally like any other mobile content. Depending on the sort parameters (author, date, title, and type), Lumira content is sorted automatically (in ascending or descending order) . You can view the metadata of Lumira content-type by tapping ( metadata icon). You can also toggle between Tile View and Listing View.

How do I view Lumira stories on mobile?

You can view Lumira stories in:
  • HTML mode
  • Native mode
By default, documents published to SAP Lumira, server version 2.0 and above open in the Native mode.

The following documents open in the HTML mode by default:

  • SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio 1.6 and below.
  • SAP Lumira Designer 2.0 and above.
  • Mixed content of SAP Lumira 2.0
  • Documents published to SAP BusinessObjects Lumira, server version 2.0 and above, having data source as HANA Online or BW Online.
Note
  • SAP Lumira documents which contain purely Designer content or mixed content are supported in both orientations (portrait and landscape).
  • With the support for SAP Lumira 2.0, documents published to SAP Lumira, server edition 1.31 and below are not listed in the application. To view the documents, migrate them to SAP Lumira 2.0 or above.

How do I navigate between stories?

The first story in Lumira is displayed automatically. If there are multiple stories, you can navigate between them by choosing from the list of stories obtained by selecting (Story List Icon) on the toolbar.

In the Native mode, documents without stories are not listed.

However, if there are no stories available within the document in the HTML mode, a blank page with a No Stories Available watermark is displayed.

What are the Lumira charts supported on Mobile?

You can view Lumira charts in the HTML as well as Native mode.

HTML mode supports all the charts supported by SAP Lumira, server for BI Platform.

Native mode supports the following charts:
  • Line
  • Bar
  • Column
  • Pie
  • Numeric
  • Bubble
  • Crosstab
  • Stacked Bar (100% Stacked supported)
  • Stacked Column (100% Stacked supported)
  • Area (100% Stacked not supported)
  • Column Chart with 2 Y-Axes
  • Line Chart with 2 Y-Axes
  • Combined Column Line Chart with 2 Y-Axes
  • Geo maps (data point type bubble and marker supported)
  • Geo Bubble chart
Note Extensions are not supported in both HTML and Native view.

How do I use various gestures on Lumira content?

You can use the following gestures to perform various actions on Lumira content:
  • Single tap:

    Use this gesture on data points in charts to view details in the data label banner, when you are in the explore mode.

  • Double tap:

    Use this gesture to explore a visualization when you are in the story mode. Choose Back to exit explore mode.

  • Long press:

    Use this gesture in the exclude functionality for bubble chart.

  • Horizontal swipe:

    Use this gesture:
    • To navigate between various pages of a Lumira document. Swiping to the left takes you to the next page and swiping to the right takes you to the previous page.
    • On the range selector to determine the chart area you want to see.
    • To scroll charts
  • Vertical swipe:

    Use this gesture:
    • On the range selector in vertically aligned charts.
    • To scroll vertically aligned charts.
  • Horizontal drag:

    Use this gesture on charts to exclude data points when you are in the explore mode.

  • Vertical drag:

    Use this gesture on charts to exclude data points of vertically aligned charts, in the explore mode.

  • Pinch and zoom:

    Use this gesture to get details of scrollable visualizations while interacting with the Lumira document on mobile.

  • Three finger pinch:

    Use this gesture to sort data (ascending and descending) in pie charts.
  • Long press and scrub:

    Use this gesture to view details of multiple data points in charts, when you are in the explore mode.

The secondary tool bar of Lumira documents contain Interaction Guide. You can get an overview of how to use the various gestures on Lumira documents by tapping it.

How do I navigate between pages in a Lumira Document?

In order to switch between various pages of a Lumira document, you can:
  • Use the page control at the bottom of the page by scrubbing over it or tapping the dots.
    Note You cannot see the page control on Lumira 2.0 documents in the HTML mode.
  • Use (stacked view icon) on the toolbar to view all pages of the document in the stacked mode.You can also use it in the explore mode to navigate across all visualizations in a particular page.

How do I open Lumira documents?

You can open Lumira documents using:
  • OpenDocument links
  • SAP BI links

What are the parameters supported by SAP Lumira, on Mobile?

The list of parameters supported by SAP Lumira, on Mobile are given below:

sType Specifies the type of object identifier used to specify the viewable document. Use in conjunction with iDocID.
sDocName Specifies the name of the viewable document in the CMS.
iDocID Specifies the unique identifier of the viewable document in the CMS. Use in conjunction withsIDType.

How do I refresh Lumira documents?

In the HTML mode you can refresh Lumira documents only if you have refresh rights.

In Native mode, the option Show Latest Data in Lumira Desktop is not respected.
Note For more information on how to set the Show Latest Data option in SAP Lumira, desktop edition, refer SAP Lumira, desktop edition User Guide
Note If you do not have refresh rights, you cannot view the Refresh button on the toolbar.

What are the container features supported for Lumira stories on Mobile?

All the Mobile container features are supported for Lumira stories, except Personal Views.
Note

BI-Inbox is supported from BI 4.2 onwards.

What are the various actions I can perform on a Lumira chart?

Analysis of each data point

Tap on a data point to see its details in the data label banner.

To highlight data points on your visualization,
  1. Tap
  2. Select (Legends tab)
  3. Tap the legend to see the respective data points.
Note You can’t see the legends panel if it is disabled by the report designer in SAP Lumira, server for BI Platform (Settings > Show Legends)

You can use the range selector to choose the area of the chart you want to see.You can also pin up the range selected.

Pie chart:

Align the needle to each pie share for details in the data label banner. You can also view details by tapping on the required value in the legends panel.

Analysis of multiple data points

Bar, column chart:

Long press and drag the data points to see details in the data label banner.

Pie Chart:

Move the needle across pie shares to see respective details in the data label banner. You can also navigate between pie portions by using the arrows on the data label.

Drill up and drill down

You can perform the drill action by tapping on the drill up and drill down options on the data label banner.
Note
  • You can only drill down into dimensions defined in SAP Lumira, server for BI Platform
  • In multi-dimensional reports, you can perform drill operation only on the last dimension.

Ascending Sort

Tap the measure you want to sort and swipe on the axis away from the origin.

Pie chart:

On unsorted charts, 3-finger pinch sorts the data in ascending order of measure. The needle of the pie is aligned to the pie portion with least value.

Descending Sort

Tap the measure you want to sort and swipe on the axis towards the origin.

Pie chart:

On unsorted charts, use the 3-finger pinch gesture twice to sort the data in descending order of measure. The needle of the pie is aligned to the pie portion with largest value.

Revert to original after sort

Tap again on the measure that you had sorted previously.

Pie chart:

On unsorted charts, using 3-finger pinch the third time sorts the data with respect to dimensions, and the needle of the pie is aligned to the pie portion with largest value.

Exclude

Bar and column chart:

Swipe the data point out of the chart. The excluded filter is now added to the filter panel.

Bubble chart:

Long press the bubble and tap on it to exclude.

Pie chart:

Use the filter panel to remove unwanted pie portions
Note You cannot exclude the last data point on charts.

How do I filter content in a visualization?

  1. Tap (Global Actions)
  2. Select (Filter)

    The available filter dimensions appear in a panel.

  3. Tap the required filter dimension (e.g <Category/Discount/City/Price/Product/Name/Quarter>).

    The available values of the dimension appear on the screen.

  4. Make the selection of values.
    Note
    • The values could be discrete or based on a range (which appears as a range-selector).
    • You can also filter content in a visualization based on input controls.
    • The visualization changes dynamically based on your selections.

How do I interact with reference lines?

You can see both fixed and dynamic (updated when you perform operations such as drill, exclude) reference lines in your mobile, that are set on Lumira documents.

Tap the circular edge of reference lines to see corresponding values and labels.
