Planning and Publishing a Manufacturing Bills of Material

In the Target panel, all the ingredients have one of the following statuses:
  • (Planned): Indicates that the ingredient is planned to the target panel from source panel.

  • (Unplanned): Indicates that the ingredient is not planned to the target panel.

  • (Quantity Discrepancy): Indicates that the quantities of planned ingredient does not match with the target panel. For example if the quantity of the ingredient in source panel is 200 grams but the quantity of onions planned in the target panel is 150 grams then the quantity discrepancy symbol occurs. Similarly the quantity discrepancy occurs when the quantity value from source is truncated up to 3 decimal places in the target. For example, when a ingredient in source panel having quantity 2.123456 is planned to target panel its quantity is truncated to 2.123.

You can toggle between the Edit and Unlock buttons on the planner page.

Choose Edit if you want to plan an BOM or perfom any action on the planner page. When you choose Edit, the system locks the handover and no other user can access this handover for editing. The system autosaves as you perform any action on the planner page.

Choose Unlock once you are completed with the handover process. The system unlocks the handover, and the handover activity is made available for other users.

Allows you to save the planned MBOM information to the external data source system (SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, SAP S/4HANA, SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, or SAP ERP).

    Note

When we plan from source, the position numbers are copied from the source to target. The target components are sorted in the ascending order based on the Position Number. When you add a BOM item using the (Add BOM Items) icon, the system generates a new position number (item number) to the target BOM item and adds it as the last row of the specified target BOM. For example, if the position numbers are between 0010 to 0050, the generated position number is 0051.
