Use this app as an administrator to define external non-SAP authoring system integrations via design types. Design types are configured to manage authoring system objects and their relations in Product Data Integration.
This app lets you do the following:
Define and edit design types containing the configuration for authoring system integrations.
Define and edit design item types for a design type.
Define and edit relation types for a design type.
Define and edit selectors and strategies to provide the correct data for the authoring systems.
Each external non-SAP authoring system integration uses a special design type to manage its objects and structures in Product Data Integration.
Design types are configurable to meet the requirements of the external authoring systems.
Design item types represent the different object types available in the external authoring systems (part, assembly or drawing for CAD systems).
Relation types represent the structural relations of the object in the external non-SAP authoring system (component, reference or family for a CAD system).
An exclusion strategy defines which design item types and relation types are excluded from the explosion of a structure.
A design item iteration of an excluded item type is not part of the explosion, and its children are not considered for further explosion.
A design item iteration with a structural relation of an excluded relation type to its parent is not part of the explosion and its children are not considered for further explosion.
An explosion strategy defines at which design item types and relation types the explosion of a structure stops.
A design item iteration of a listed design item type is part of the explosion, but its children are not considered.
Children of a design item iteration with a structural relation of a listed relation type are not considered for further explosion.
Defines which files are provided in the explosion process dependent of file types and file selectors.
File selectors define a file name pattern for a file type and is used for selecting files in a file retrieval strategy.
File types are used to categorize the files managed in Product Data Integration.
This option defines which iteration of the child is returned in the retrieval process.
Saved Iteration: Always return the saved iteration of the child design item.
Dynamic: Return the valid iteration of the child design item considering the explosion parameters.
This option should be set for authoring system relations besides the assembly structure that may lead to circular structures. When this option is set to true, the parent check-in validation allows checked-out children for structure relations of this relation type.
When the option is set to true, the relation is regarded as special relation to a child design item that contains the definition of the parent design item.
When this option is set to true, design items of this design item type are synchronized to Enterprise Product Structure.
This is a general option for all design item types of a design type. When this option is set to true, a modified design item can only be saved if the design item is checked out for the user.
When this option is set to true, structure relations of this Relation Type are synchronized to Product Data Integration.
Transformation matrices must exist for all direct components of the design item iteration.
A thumbnail file must exist for the design item iteration.
A preview file must exist for the design item iteration.
A primary file (native authoring file) must exist for the design item iteration.
The Item Category enables the selection of general processing for the design item types.
Main categorizes design item types that can exist without a leading design item (e.g. PART, ASSEMBLY, FAMILY).
Dependent categorizes design item types that can only exist with a special relation to a leading design item (e.g. DEPENDENT_DRAWING, KINMATICS).
The relation category enables to select the general processing for the relation types.
General categorizes relation types that represent assembly or references structures of authoring systems.
Reference categorizes relation types that represent authoring system reference relations (e.g. wave links).
Dependent categorizes relation types that represent the authoring system relations between a dependent and a main design (e.g. drawing to 3D model).
Variant to generic categorizes relation types that represent the authoring system relations between a parent design (without an own file) and the child design containing its definition (e. g. model states in ...).
Member to family categorizes relation types that represent the authoring system relations between a parent design (with a own generated file) and the child design containing its definition (e.g. part families).
