Use this app to create and maintain property trees for your specifications.
This app lets you do the following:
Create a new property tree with a hierarchy of maximum five levels of nodes.
Add or remove property nodes from the property tree.
Add or remove properties from the property tree.
Release the property tree to be able to add it to a specification type.
A property tree is a collection of properties that are arranged in a clearly organized structure. A property tree contains all the properties for a specification type, and it is filtered down by product category.
To create a new property tree, choose Create. You can modify an already existing property tree by selecting it and opening the object page.
If a property tree is already assigned to a specification type, you can't delete it, however, you can make it obsolete. Obsolete property trees can't be newly assigned to specification types, and can't be modified, but they can be displayed in specifications.
You can add properties of only certain usage types depending on the configuration of the Used For field of the properties.
The contents of a property tree are the property nodes and the underlying properties.
You can have multiple levels of property nodes: altogether five levels of property nodes are allowed under each other.
To add a property to a property node, first select the property node and then add the property. If you don't select a property node, the property is added directly to the property tree as a stand-alone property.
You can change the order of the property nodes or properties by selecting the respective row and using the move up or move down icons. You can also move a property node or property to the top or bottom.
The content of an obsolete property tree can't be modified.
You can cut and paste whole branches of the property tree hierarchy. You can select a whole hierarchy with underlying properties and nodes as well, or you can select individual properties on any level.
Select the items you want to place elsewhere in the property tree.
Choose Cut.
Select the item where you want to paste your cut items. Depending on the target, you can paste before, after, or into it. Select Paste, and then the respective button.
If you change your mind and don't want to place your cut items elsewhere, you can restore the original state of the property tree with the Restore button.

After you've cut any items in the property tree, you can paste before, after, or into the target item, depending on the type.
A property tree can have a maximum of five levels of property nodes, therefore the paste is successful only if you don't exceed this limit with your action.
Based on your selections, some of the options may not be available (for example, property nodes can't be placed under properties).
You can remove single or multiple properties and property nodes. If you remove a property node, it is also deleted.
Select the items you want to remove and choose Remove.
If you remove a property or property node from the property tree while the property tree is already released, it may happen that there is already a specification which has data maintained for that property or property node and therefore the change can cause data to be hidden from the UI.
To be used in specifications, a property tree has to be assigned to a specification type. A property tree can be assigned to multiple specification types.
Here you can display the specification types that this property tree is already assigned to. The assignment itself happens in the Specification Types app.
If a property tree is already assigned to a specification type, you can't delete it, however, you can make it obsolete. Obsolete property trees can't be newly assigned to specification types, and can't be modified, but they can be displayed in specifications.
Only a released property tree can be assigned to a specification type.
When you are done configuring your property tree, choose Release. After releasing the property tree, it appears in the Specification Types app to be assigned.
A property tree in the In Work status can't be assigned to specification types.
If you set the property tree back to In Work, it doesn't show up in the Specification Types app to be assigned.
You can't set a property tree back to In Work status if it is already assigned to a specification type.
If a property tree is already assigned to a specification type, you can't delete it, however, you can make it obsolete. Obsolete property trees can't be newly assigned to specification types, and can't be modified, but they can be displayed in specifications.
If you want to set a property tree to obsolete, choose Set to Obsolete.
Obsolete property trees can't be modified.
